Evening Meditation

Birds sing their praise in the growing dusk.
The smell of spring,
Cool, green and full of promise,
Surrounds the ending of another day in a loving embrace.

The fading sun illumines the colors of the leaves
Just once more before day’s end.
The master painter is at His easel,
Blending the infinite blues in His palette
To display as many as possible,
Before the world slips into darkness again.
Surrounded by so great a host of creations,
What is man, truly?
