Spring slumbers contentedly
‘Neath winter’s snowy garb.
On a nearby rooftop,
Blades of snow slide slowly to the edge,
Like a skier on a mountain,
Plopping icy, white bits into piles on the ground.

Petey’s Ordinary Day
Gently the sun’s early morning rays peeked in the nursery window. Feeling the warmth on his face, Petey stretched sleepily and slowly opened his eyes. He looked up and saw the familiar figures of his mobile hanging above him. He spent some time wondering why they moved sometimes and not others.

Candles In My Life
A child is born,
And an angel is dispatched to light a candle
Which will illumine the child’s way in the world.
As the child grows,
A candle is lit for each person who comes into his life.
These lights help guide and direct the child
Through the labyrinth of his life.

A Quiet Family Thanksgiving
Gathered around our Thanksgiving table this year were two of our three sons, two of our three grandchildren and, of course, one daughter-in-law, my husband, and myself. Not a large grouping but our family’s typical one. The best dishes and glassware were on display, glad to get out of the cupboard and see the light of day again.
